Bugout

The black and wood RPG-7 model

Model Description

Bugout is GoatGuns first RPG model, “inspired by one of Sarge's finest. You know him as Anthony, who goes by call sign 'Bugout' in his GoatGuns customization videos.” Their pitch for it is “Close only counts when it comes to horseshoes and hand grenades. Sarge took it a few steps further. The beauty of the green warhead, red wood and black body is one spectacle from the model gods.” We couldn't agree more.

The model looks like a traditional RPG you might see in a movie war scene, The heat shield on this model is made from real wood, Pterocarpus Soyauxii wood specifically, it makes this model truly stand out amongst the others. The two grips on the model however are only painted to be a similar reddish brown as the wooden heat shield. The remaining parts of the launcher are all black, as well as the rockets booster and sustainer motor. With the warhead on the end the traditional olive green. Coincidentally this may be the last GoatGuns model to offer real wooden components, they used to have wooden gun racks and wooden AK furniture. They even initially intended to make the M1 Garand models with real wood. Unfortunately, since mass manufacturing the wooden components at these sizes made them exceptionally brittle, they have since discontinued all other real wood products, leaving Bugout as the lone survivor. Also, the latest RPG model Nosebomb changed out the wooden heat shield for a diecast one, it is possible this was done just for the painting process used for the model, but this may be the way they make all future RPG models.

We have this model listed as shell ejecting, this isn't exactly true, since no part of am RPG uses shells. The rocket on this model will however fire out of the launcher when the trigger is pulled. The spring in the launcher tube isn't super powerful and the warhead on the end of the rocket is quite heavy, so it will start to drop right after it leaves the end of the tube. With the warhead of the rocket, firing it from the shoulder height of an average man it might hit the ground about four feet away from you, were if you fired the rocket without the warhead you may see about three times the distance. The model also has a front and rear flip up sight for pointing in a slightly more precise general direction.

Just like the Patton model, when the RPG first came out it didn't include a display stand. It must have been around the time Arm & Gun was released they started including the same three-piece plastic stand they added to the Garand models.
