Patton

The classic M1 Garand model Patton

Model Description

Patton is a model inspired by the legendary M1 Garand rifle. The “wood” components of the model are just painted to simulate a wood grain, but it does come with a leather sling that is unique to this model without the spring hooks you would find on the other slings GoatGuns offers. The butt plate on the stock has an operational hatch to the storage compartment, the rear sight is adjustable up and down via the knobs on either side. Both the trigger can be pulled, and the safety can be positioned inside the trigger guard but neither have any mechanical function more than fidget toys.

The charging handle on the model can also be drawn back opening the bolt revealing the clip and ammunition. This process will not cycle rounds through the gun like on other models with shell ejection, but while the breach is open you can press the clip release button on the left side, and it will eject the clip and cartridges as one. Also, if you install an empty clip into the model when the clip is ejected it will produce a small ping. Other than the simulated wood and brown leather sling, the dummy rounds and sling rivets are brass, all other parts are black in color.

The model also comes with a stand, a black plastic piece with a tombstone on either end that cradles the model, Originally Patton did not include this stand in the earlier model releases, it seems the stand was included around the time the Arm & Gun model released.

In some live events Anthony gave a little history on the development of the M1 models, stating that originally, they wanted to give the models real wood stocks. They had a prototype with a wood stock that was photographed at Shot Show 2022 and leaked to the Facebook group. In their early prototypes the wooden hand guards were brittle and kept splitting because of how thin they needed to be for this scale. They considered making the main stock section in wood and the handguards in metal painted to resemble the wood but wanted to maintain consistency in the end. Some wood stocks were manufactured but they were never released to the public.
